Local student makes Deans List

It was recently announced that son Nikolas Hartke, of Cottonwood, made the Fall 2024 Dean’s List at University of IL Champaign-Urbana.

I’ve always found it interesting that the Apostle Paul never tells his “conversion story.” We know how it happened, because Luke wrote it in Acts. Luke tells us when the severe persecution began against the church in Jerusalem, the apostles were out spreading the Good News of Christ, and Paul was searching for ways to bring the believers of Jesus back to Jerusalem for punishment and death.

MnDOT conducting aerial photography work in southwest Minnesota

The Minnesota Department of Transportation will conduct aerial mapping in southwest Minnesota this spring. The mapping will create a record of existing infrastructure and landscape along, and adjacent to, MnDOT right of way for transportation planning and highway design. This work is conducted when there is no snow and before trees leaf out.

Firefighter earns certification

Firefighter Dylan Dambroten has dedicated hundreds of hours of class time, hands on skills work, and state testing in his first year with the Granite Falls Fire Department. That has earned him certification as an accredited Firefighter to the level required in Minnesota, 31 other states, and parts of Canada. Most importantly, Dylan turned in his yellow Probationary helmet for the black Firefighter edition as he becomes able to gain more experience on calls.
