When my wife and I were driving around the state of Minnesota over the weekend for a family baptism, we drove by many lakes and saw varying degrees of ice on area lakes. Some have very dark ice, while others with very little ice at all.

As spring approaches, many of us are beginning to consider our plans for spring cleaning, relocating or tidying up around our shops and garages. As residents sort through items in their homes, we aim to provide guidance on the best ways to dispose of items that are no longer wanted or needed.
Delegates from Minnesota return from Washington, D.C. after a week of Congressional meetings pushing to roll back the 45Q tax credit that subsidizes the development of carbon pipelines. Dan and Jolene Henriksen (Vesta), Pam Jensen (Lamberton), and Peg Furshong (Renville) met with officials from Rep. Finstad, Rep. Fischbach, Sen. Klobuchar, Rep. Omar, and Sen. Smith’s offices. In addition to state meetings, the delegation met with the Senate Committee on Finance, House Committee on Ways and Means as well as with the Pipeline Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) as a follow-up to a letter sent on February 10th on wasteful and dangerous carbon capture subsidies.
On Saturday evening, the first annual KOLT Foundation Gala was held at The Rock: Dining and Events. The evening featured food, auctions, and entertainment with a black and white attire theme.

Can you believe that fraud, errors, and abuse cost Medicare more than $60 billion last year? Medicare fraud is one of the most rampant forms of fraud in the US. There are a variety of ways it is committed and ultimately all taxpayers end up paying for the dishonesty of others. The Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) began in 1997 and they provide valuable tips for preventions and ideas for what to do if you believe you’ve been scammed. Question: The other day I was going down the freeway and I saw a vehicle that must’ve missed their exit as they were backing up near an exit ramp. This didn’t appear safe and I’m going to guess illegal. What do you say sir?
