Warmer weather prompts seasonal road, trail closures

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has begun temporarily closing some DNR-managed roads and motorized trails as seasonal melting makes them too soft to support vehicle traffic without causing damage. The duration of the temporary closures in state forests, state parks, recreation areas, and wildlife management areas depends on local weather and surface conditions, which are difficult to predict.

YME hosts Career Fair

Last week, despite the snowy weather, local employers came out to the Yellow Medicine East High School to support students at YME’s first Career Fair. The event provided an opportunity for students to discover career paths, connect with professionals, talk to colleges, and gain valuable insights into various industries.

MAMLN hosts educational event on Dementia

Small Grains Workshop for Western Minnesota Farmers March 15 in Benson

Farmers, agricultural professionals and community members in western Minnesota are invited to a Small Grain Markets Workshop on Saturday, March 15, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at McKinney’s on Southside (300 14th St. South) in Benson, Minn. This free Land Stewardship Project (LSP) event is an opportunity to learn from regional growers and innovators about the benefits of reintroducing small grains into farming operations and ways to rebuild the markets and infrastructure needed to support them. Big fluctuations in temperatures

It was a great weekend and early start to this week! We had record and near record high temperatures on Monday as temps climbed into the 60s and 70s!
