As dusk fell last Wednesday, a small crowd gathered on Lende Plaza around this year’s lush pine (thanks for donating it, NICHA Granite Falls!) and circled the elf-sized city, many marveling at how it now contains a river and ski resort courtesy of a group of diligent YME teens.

Thanks to the combined efforts of many volunteers, especially Mary Gillespie (who carted houses in her van and ran more than half of the workshops) and Lisa Travis (finder of materials and rescuer of last year’s ice-encrusted village), much of the fairy solstice village is now up outside the K.K.
