“Blooming Beauty” by young, emerging artist Grace Haugen, is currently on display in the Emerging Artist gallery of the KK Berge building. Grace says, “It’s a journey through my life the past year, and how I have bloomed into a person that I am proud of.”

Fun in the Sun kits available for young children

United Way of Southwest Minnesota They’re back!! Fun in the Sun Kits were so popular last year that United Way of Southwest Minnesota (UWSWMN) is excited to announce they’re here again! The goal of these kits is to provide a starting point for family activities that are fun, educational and engaging throughout the summer. These kits are a gift from UWSWMN to families in our service area that have young children and are distributed through local libraries.

Live Well, Age Wisely: Our Agrarian Culture

The second week of March 2020 stands out in my memory for two reasons. I presented at a regional conference in Marshall midweek and remember how we were encouraged to not shake hands. By Friday, the governor had declared a state of emergency in Minnesota, and I’ll never forget the feeling of uncertainty that followed. I don’t enjoy reminiscing on those days! The conference, however, was a bright spot.

Clarkfield Community Closeup

Ron Stevens, Clarkfield High School Class of 1981, died on Saturday, May 28th, as the result of a stroke. Ron & his wife Barb lived in Marshall & were the parents of Clay & Meg. Ron’s parents were Roger & Mary Lou Stevens. Blessed be Ron’s memory!
