Saturday, June 18th: The 2022 Ray Fagen Memorial Airshow is happening and will be held at Fagen Fighters WWII Museum located at the Lenzen-Roe-Fagen Memorial Airport near Granite Falls, Minnesota, on Saturday, June 18, 2022 with a rain date of June 19.
The family of the late Barbara Benson would like to express our sincere gratitude for all the wonderful people who helped and supported us prior to and after the funeral. A special thank you to the doctors and nursing staff at the care center for the wonderful care and their attentiveness she received during her stay.

After seeing an advertisement for the Minnesota Miss Teen USA pageant on Facebook, Tianna Wright, a Yellow Medicine East High School student, made the decision to compete. In order to prepare for her first pageant, two years ago, Wright reached out to others she knew were involved in pageantry, most specifically indigenous people, to seek advice for competing. Wright found a coach in North Dakota and began her venture into the world of pageants.

The cool, wet spring has led to significant planting delays in parts of the state. Others are dealing with flooding after planting.
At the regular monthly meeting of the Granite Falls City Council Monday evening, one of the topics of discussion was the need to modify their previous resolution declaring a State of Emergency due to the May 12th storms. Staff recommended the council modify the resolution to include the May 30th storms, which would extend the State of Emergency order an additional 60 days. It was noted that the cost estimates from the May 12th storm thus far total $57,364.28 on the Yellow Medicine County side of the City, and $17,521.84 on the Chippewa County side of the City. The council approved the modification.
Thousands of Adopt a Highway volunteers helped to keep Minnesota roadsides clean and free of litter in 2021 by picking up more than 29,500 bags of trash from highway ditches, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
South Dakota State announces the names of the outstanding undergraduates who have been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2022 semester. Local students making the list are: -Mackenzie Dyrdahl of Clarkfield, is a student in SDSU’s College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions.
