Monday morning, Yellow Medicine East Senior Aria Peters officially signed to play volleyball and softball for St. Cloud Technical & Community College. She was joined in the celebration at the YME gymnasium by her volleyball and softball teammates, coaches, parents and grandparents, and her future coach at St. Cloud Technical & Community College.

After a long week of waiting for the DIII Selection Show, the Lady Jays (27-4) were excited to earn the #5 seed as the second-selected, At-Large team to play in the NJCAA DIII Women’s Basketball National Championship.
Mark this down in pen: Yellow Medicine East will field one of its finest ever varsity softball teams this spring. The Sting are returning seven starters, including All-Camden Conference catcher and four-year varsity starter Aria Peters, and ace pitcher Bayli Sneller, a hard-throwing freshman righthander with plenty of varsity experience.
The Yellow Medicine East High School Trap Teams SPRING 2023 season will get started on Sunday, March 26th at 1:30 pm. There are nine shoots total. Five of those shoots are for the conference competition rounds against other schools. This also includes a State Championship in June. This year the team has 18 athletes who will compete with individual scores and a team of five in whatever class they qualify in. This year’s team includes four-Seniors, four-Juniors, two-Sophomores, two-Freshman, two in eighth grade, two in seventh grade and one in sixth grade with one of them being brand new to the team. “We are looking forward to a great season,” says Coach/ Manager Sandy Berthelsen.
