Last Tuesday the Yellow Medicine East Varsity Girls basketball team traveled to Grove City to take home a victory over Atwater-Cosmos- Grove City. Leaders in the game included Hope Stark who scored 11 points, eight assists.

Yellow Medicine East girl’s basketball coach Ryan Schultz said his players and coaching staff are especially excited for Friday night’s game at MACCRAY. “Everyone is eager to play again, after the long layoff,” he said after practice on Tuesday.
Take the 16th Annual Community Health Challenge: The objectives of the 16th Annual Community Health Challenge are to encourage people to achieve a healthier lifestyle and to get more people active in our community. Join together with three other friends to form a team. Collect points for weight loss, and participating in community events over a 12 week time frame. The cost of the challenge is $10 per person/$40 per team. Your reward, other than feeling better and looking better, may be a cash prize! The first weigh-in will be anytime between January 3rd – January 15th. We will have a middle weigh-in anytime between February 11th – 19th, and the final weigh-in will be anytime between March 25th – April 2nd. The deadline to register a team is Sunday, January 15th.
Last Tuesday, the Yellow Medicine East Boys Varsity basketball team traveled to Tracy to take home a victory against Tracy-Milroy-Balaton. Leaders in the game included Bryce Sneller and Owen Torvik, who both scored 11 points individually.

Yellow Medicine East girls basketball coach Ryan Schultz praised star players Ruby Bones and Hannah Stark for their strong contributions through the first five games of the season. “Ruby and Hannah have alternated as our scoring leaders and are tremendously strong inspirational leaders for our young squad,” said Schultz, whose team is scheduled to visit MACCRAY on Thursday night after facing host ACGC on Tuesday night (results not available as this edition went to press).
Minnesota State University, Mankato awarded 2,193 degrees to 1,936 students at the end of the fall 2022 semester, with commencement ceremonies scheduled for 9 a.m. and noon Saturday, Dec. 10 in Taylor Center’s Bresnan Arena on the Minnesota State Mankato campus.

Last Tuesday, the Yellow Medicine East Girls Varsity Basketball team took a loss to Minneota with a final score of 56-82. On Thursday, the team took to the courts again, taking on Russell- Tyler-Ruthton for a 53-72 defeat. Leaders in that game included Hannah Stark who scored 17 points, eight rebounds. Last Tuesday, the Yellow Medicine East Varsity Boys Basketball team hosted Red Rock Central for a 68-65 victory that came after a three-point shot in the final seconds of the game. With just seconds left on the clock, Drew Almich went for a three-point shot that rolled around the inside of the rim, but popped back out of the hoop.
