The Yellow Medicine East Silhouettes Junior Varsity and Varsity High-Kick Dance teams gave a preview of their performance this season during the Varsity Girls Basketball game’s halftime. This year’s costume and music selections feature a 1970s theme. The team performs next December 10th in Albany. Their next home performance is January 21st at their Home Invitational.

Last week, the Yellow Medicine East Boys and Girls Cross Country teams traveled to the Section 3A Championships at Luverne High School. Leaders for the boys team were Dylan Castillo, finishing 93rd with a time of 20:33.70 and Connor Olson, finishing 125th with a time of 22:49.60. The girls team took the 15th place spot with a score of 397. Leaders included Sanjana Pullan in 42nd place with a time of 22:07.39, Anjeli PUllan finishing 43rd with a time of 22:07.76, Karina Jahn finishing 107th with a time of 25:50.25, Evelyn Martin finishing 109th with a time of 26:08.86 and Izabella Anderson finishing 125th with a time of 29:43.84.

Yellow Medicine East’s football team hosted MACCRAY in their last regular season game last Wednesday for a 20-6 victory. Leaders in the game included Cody Dahlager who ran 83 yards in 15 runs with three touchdowns. The Yellow Medicine East Varsity Cross Country teams hosted the Camden Conference Invitational at the Granite Run Golf Course last week. The girls team took home the 4th place spot with a score of 123. The top five scorers for the girls team included: 13th Sanjana Pullan 21:52, 18th Anjeli Pullan 22:20, 32nd Karina Jahn 25:28, 34th Evelyn Martin 25:51, 44th Bella Anderson 29:37.
The Yellow Medicine East TRAP Team ended their season with three of the shooters lettering for the year for the first time since joining TRAP. “It’s not easy to shoot the clays, let alone shoot that lettering score,” says YME Trap coach Sandra Berthelsen. Monday evening, the Yellow Medicine East Varsity Volleyball team hosted Lakeview in the opener of the Section 3A-North playoffs, taking a victory 3-2.
