Yellow Medicine East’s surging wrestling team had 26 pins overall and the varsity finished in fourth-place with only seven competitors in an eight-team invitational at St. James last weekend.

The Yellow Medicine East Silhouettes Junior Varsity and Varsity High-Kick Dance teams gave a preview of their performance this season during the Varsity Girls Basketball game’s halftime. This year’s costume and music selections feature a 1970s theme. The team performs next December 10th in Albany. Their next home performance is January 21st at their Home Invitational.

The Yellow Medicine East Varsity Football team traveled to Minneota for the Section 5A quarterfinals last Tuesday evening. The team took a 14-56 loss. Leaders in the game included Cody Dahlager who rushed for 58 yards, scoring one touchdown on 12 carries. Complete scoring from that game follows:

Last week, the Yellow Medicine East Boys and Girls Cross Country teams traveled to the Section 3A Championships at Luverne High School. Leaders for the boys team were Dylan Castillo, finishing 93rd with a time of 20:33.70 and Connor Olson, finishing 125th with a time of 22:49.60. The girls team took the 15th place spot with a score of 397. Leaders included Sanjana Pullan in 42nd place with a time of 22:07.39, Anjeli PUllan finishing 43rd with a time of 22:07.76, Karina Jahn finishing 107th with a time of 25:50.25, Evelyn Martin finishing 109th with a time of 26:08.86 and Izabella Anderson finishing 125th with a time of 29:43.84.

On Friday, the Yellow Medicine East Varsity Volleyball team traveled to Clara City to take on MACCRAY in the playoffs. The team took a loss, 1-3, ending their season with a final standing of 7-17. Scoring from that game follows: YME (7-17) 21 14 25 22 MACCRAY (20-10) 25 25 21 25

Yellow Medicine East’s football team hosted MACCRAY in their last regular season game last Wednesday for a 20-6 victory. Leaders in the game included Cody Dahlager who ran 83 yards in 15 runs with three touchdowns.
