YME takes on RCW, CMCS

The Yellow Medicine East Volleyball team traveled to Renville to take on Renville County West last Tuesday evening for a 2-3 loss. Leaders in that game included Ruby Bones who scored nine kills, five ace blocks and Hannah Stark who scored 13 kills.

YME Cross Country team takes 10th

The Yellow Medicine East Cross Country team took part in the Marshall Invitational at the Marshall Golf Course last Tuesday, with the girls taking 10th place. Leaders in the event included Sanjana Pullan, who finished with a time of 23:30.5 in 22nd place for the girls team, and Dylan Castillo who finished with a score of 20:44.3 in 50th place for the boys team. Scoring from that event follows: Top Five Scorers Girls: (22) Sanjana Pullan, 23:30.5, (23) Anjeli Pullan, 23:32.4, (56) Karina Jahn, 30:06.0, (58) Evelyn Martin, 32:47.3, (59) Bella Anderson, 33:48.2.

YME 2022 Homecoming Royalty announced

The 2022 YME Homecoming Royalty was announced this week. Those in the running are: Front (L-R) Nevaeh Chaparro, Kayla Nordaune, Kylie Knollenberg, Ruby Bones, Hannah Stark, Aria Peters. Back (L-R) Shaun Bestland, Cody Dahlager, James Peterson, Bryce Sneller, Landon Anderson, Nolan Hildahl. Coronation will be held on Monday, September 19th at 2:15 in the MS/HS Auditorium. The doors will open at 1:30 to the public. Throughout the week, students will be celebrating with a variety of events, including dress up days such as Adam Sandler Day on Monday, when students will also drive a tractor to school. The Powderpuff football game is scheduled Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. On Friday, events wrap up with Sting Pride Day as the theme, a Pep Fest at 2:15 p.m. in Espeland Gym, Academic Awards Ceremony and the Varsity Football Game against Canby followed by a dance at Lee Mar Equine Center Ranch after the football game.

2022 YME Fall Trap season begins

Submitted The Yellow Medicine East Trap team will be starting their season with their first shoot on Sunday, September 18th at 1:30 p.m. There will be five conference shoots where the athletes will be competing for first, second or third place positions as individuals scoring and as a team of five.
