Three Yellow Medicine East Track athletes recently earned Academic All-State Honors for the 2021- 22 season. In order to earn this award, the students must have a GPA higher than 3.6 and meet one of three athletic standards: 1) compete at the state track meet or 2) be all-conference in an event or 3) meet the Honor Roll Standards for competition that are determined by the coaches association (example: run faster than 11.5 100m dash for boys).

Both Ruby Bones and Patrick Hoernemann competed well at the State Track Meet, says coach Dave Schueler. Two athletes from the YME Track and Field team are heading to state today after placing either first or second at the Section Track Meet where over 20 schools competed. Those students traveling to the State Track Meet today are: -Ruby Bones, High Jump: Bones scored 5’1” at the Section meet.

Last week, the Yellow Medicine East Softball game defeated Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa 2-1. LEaders in the game included Jenna Weir who struck out four, allowed six hits and two walks. Scoring from that game follows:
