The YME Boys Tennis team defeated Lac Qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd in the Section 3A playoff quarterfinals last week. The team went on to play against Benson/Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg on Tuesday in Redwood Falls (scoring not available at print time).
The YME Track team took part in the Subsection Track Meet in Redwood Falls Thursday evening, resulting in a number of the team’s members moving on to the section meet. Track Coach Dave Schueler said, “We had a great day! Last Tuesday, the YME baseball team defeated Canby in an away game 12-0. Leaders in the game included Nikson Knapper who went 2-for-3 with a walk, stolen base, three runs, and an RBI. Complete scoring from that game follows:
The athletes are already done shooting the Spring 2022 Conference Competition rounds. “We are very proud of the YME High School Trap Team Shooters who stuck it out to the finish. From what I heard; the weather was not good for anyone in Minnesota,” says Trap Team Coach/Manager Sandy Berthelsen.
On Thursday, the Yellow Medicine East d track and field teams traveled to the Camden Conference Championship meet held at Tracy-Milroy-Balaton High School. The girls team finished in 8th place with a score of 24, while the boys team finished in 8th place with a score of 31. Individual scoring follows:
