Vicar of Healing Waters Lutheran Parish, Lutheran Seminary Student George Müller was born in Germany in 1805 (and died in 1898), he was a little troubled in his youth. He got into the bad habits of lying, stealing, and drinking. He stole government funds from his father and the story is that he was out partying with his friends when his mom was dying. He didn’t really care about anything. He ended up arrested and locked up with thieves like himself. Still, he didn’t change. But later, his father—wanting to help him change—sent him to seminary to become a clergyman where he was introduced to the Bible and found a loving God. He was best known for his work with orphans. He not only found ways to provide housing, but also had people show up to educate and train the children for a trade.

LINDA “LIN” ELAINE DAHL

Linda “Lin” Elaine Dahl, 73, of Granite Falls passed away peacefully with her family by her side on May 14, 2023, Mother’s Day. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, May 19, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Granite Falls Lutheran Church in Granite Falls. Interment will follow at Sparta Cemetery in rural Granite Falls. Visitation will be Thursday, May 18, 2023, from 5 - 7 p.m. at Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Granite Falls and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Lin was born February 12, 1950, in Milnor, N.D. to Harold and Lois Frigen. She attended Milnor High School, graduating in 1968. She attended St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing where she became a registered nurse on August 27, 1971. Lin moved to Crookston to pursue her nursing career at Riverview

Roll liver in salt, pepper and flour.

CHARLENE “CHAR” GULLICKSON

Charlene “Char” Gullickson, 72, of Granite Falls passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Avera Granite Falls Care Center in Granite Falls. A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Granite Falls Lutheran Church. Interment will be held a later date. Charlene Louise Gullickson was born on August 6, 1950, to Lyle and Florence (Dagel) Ulven in Redwood Falls. She grew up in Belview and was baptized on September 10, 1950, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Granite Falls. Char graduated from Granite Falls High School. After high school, she attended Ridgewater College in Willmar and got her Human Service Technician Degree.
