Charles Wesley Swanson (Chuck/Charlie) of Clarkfield passed away suddenly on Friday, September 30 at the age of 72. He was born on July 13, 1950, in Hayfield to Wes and Ardy Swanson. They soon moved to Granite Falls where he had many fond memories of growing up on a farm. He graduated from Granite Falls High School in 1968. He was married, and later divorced, but the union produced his two children. He worked many jobs over the years, and he proved to be an excellent salesman. He was also able to teach himself how to program and repair computers. He was a longtime member of AA and was a friend and mentor to several people. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Keith. He is survived by his daughter, Missy (Gregg) Rohwer and son, Chad (Ann) Swanson, brother Greg Swanson (Rick), sister Kris Swanson, a nephew Nick (Brittney) Swanson, a nephew Ben Swanson, a niece, Jasmine (Jake) Klavetter, and a cousin, David Folkert. He is also survived by longtime companion, Paula Andert, and her children Dawn, Jennifer, and Dan. In addition, he has six grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on November 6 from 1 – 4 p.m. at Clarkfield City Hall, 904 10th Ave. in Clarkfield.
