Daniel Johnson, 68, of Montevideo passed away on Monday, March 21 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Memorial services were held on March 26 at the Wing-Bain Funeral Home.

Daniel Lynn Johnson was born June 28, 1953, the son of Verner and Elaine (Lietz) Johnson in Tacoma, Wash. His family moved to Granite Falls where he was confirmed at Granite Falls Lutheran Church. He graduated from the Granite Falls High School in 1971.

Dan worked for Plews for a time and then started his career in the rock quarry business in Granite Falls. He later moved to Lakeville where he was employed with Kraemer Mining and Materials. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 49. Dan enjoyed playing cards at family gatherings. He was a faithful member of the Lutheran faith and had recently joined Bergen Lutheran Church following his move to Montevideo.

He is survived by his siblings: Nelda (John) Metz of Waseca, Gary (Linda) Johnson of Rogers and Donna (Todd) Rothenberger of Alexandria; several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Luverne and Robert.
