GRANITE FALLS – George Hoffman, 89, of Granite Falls passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at the Clara City Care Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 4th at 11:00 am at St. Andrew Catholic Church. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 5 to 7 pm at the Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Granite Falls and continue one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. George Hoffman was born April 15, 1932, the son of Henry & Bertha (Kary) Hoffman in Odense Township, North Dakota. Following his education George went to work with his father at Hoffman’s Garage.
He was united in marriage to Arlene Beehler on June 2, 1952, at Fort Yates, North Dakota. The family moved to Granite Falls in 1956, where George was employed at Sandberg Implement and continued to work there when it became Tjosvold Equipment.
He enjoyed snowmobiling, was active with the Knights of Columbus, Boy Scouts and loved to dance. The family enjoyed camping and continued until George turned 80. During his later years he enjoyed watching westerns and NASCAR races.
He is survived by his wife Arlene, children: Vicky (Al) Rosendahl of Atwater; Dan (Janell) of Melrose and Mike (Val) of Granite Falls; ten grandchildren: Kari (Darin), Scott (Kim), Becky & Melissa, Andy, Tony (Jenny), Tracy (Justin) & Ted (Kacy), Ashley (Eric) and Alyssa; 16 great grandchildren; siblings: Rose Beehler and Lillian Sanders both of Mandan, North Dakota, Simon (Margaret) Hoffman of Bismarck, North Dakota and Eugene (Pat) Hoffman of Webster, South Dakota; and several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Francis Thomas, in-laws Phillip and Francis Beehler, brothers-in-law: Jack Thomas, George Thomas, Blair Sanders, Leo, Joel, Ralph and Frank Beehler.
