Madeline Johnson was born July 27, 2020, to loving parents Kenton and Jessica (MacLeod) Johnson of Granite Falls. She was baptized at Granite Falls Lutheran Church on August 16, 2020.
Madeline touched and brought joy to more lives in her 2.5 years on Earth than most people do in a lifetime. She was a little ray of sunshine, with her big, beautiful, infectious smile instantly brightening any room or anyone’s day! Maddie was a remarkable little girl, always so caring, loving, and quick witted for a toddler. She was the happiest child, and could often be found singing, dancing, or marching around to her favorite tunes.
Madeline attended Puddle Jumpers Learning Center where she fiercely loved her friends and teachers. She will always be remembered as the kindest and sweetest friend. She brought such happiness to the classroom and life with her dazzling personality, silly sayings, “pat pats” on the back, and “big tight squeeze” hugs.
Madeline always loved being on the go! She was fortunate to visit family and friends in Florida, South Dakota, and on the East Coast. She especially loved summers in “Maddie’s Camper” on the lake, where she earned the nickname of the Pontoon Princess. In typical Maddie fashion, she energetically greeted and waved to each passing boat. Our beautiful girl was loved by all who knew her.
Maddie is survived by her parents: Kenton and Jessica; brother Carter; grandparents Charles and Cynthia MacLeod of Hampton Falls, N.H. and Dean and Jennifer Johnson of Watertown, S.D.; aunts and uncles: Cameron MacLeod, Matthew MacLeod, Melissa MacLeod and Kirsten Tjosaas; cousins: Kaiden Tjosaas and Mason Tjosaas; great-grandparents: Willis and Arlyss Johnson and Susan Wagstaff; and many extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her greatgrandparents: Austin Wagstaff, Jennings and Florence Anderson, and Eleanor Johnson.
Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers. All memorials will be given to various children’s organizations.
