Throughout the year, the Chamber of Commerce serves as a focal point for local businesses and the community to work together in the community. As we approach the final weeks of January, the Granite Falls Chamber of Commerce will be hosting their annual community celebration on January 28.

This community event will be held at Bootlegger’s Supper Club and the doors will open at 5:00 p.m. The menu for the night is as follows: smoked roast beef, cheesy hash brown bake, green beans, tossed salad, tomato basil pasta salad, buns and butter, and strawberry shortcake.

A silent auction will be held that night as well, with unique items up for grabs that help to reflect the colorful variety of items and goods from the community. Items from the auction are often donated from area businesses, with a majority of them being from Chamber of Commerce members. The new Chamber Board members will be acknowledged at this meeting as well.

Guests will also be treated to tentertainment from the a capella group ‘Six Appeal.’ Using their voices as their instruments, Six Appeal is a agroup out of Minneapolis that has a diverse repertoire of songs to entertain crowds with. Their website states that, “From coast to coast, the group has become known for their vivid musical style, unmatched energy, and playful charm. Their far-reaching repertoire spans a multitude of decades and genres, including Pop, country, Classic Rock, Jazz, R&B, and much more. If you can imagine it, they can sign it.”

In addition, the group’s website states that they won the title in the National Harmony Sweepstakes in 2012. The group has performed in a large variety of venues, including college campuses, State Fairs, corporate gigs, community festivals, and theaters. According to their site, the group got their start as follows, “Six Appeal bgan as a collegiate hobby in 2006 a Concordia College in Moorhead. Performing around campus was a great way to relax from classes, create a new sound on campus, and yes, meet girls. As the group evolved into a professional ensemble in 2010, Six Appeal began to introduce new members, transforming their sound and focus into the current dynmic sextet.”
