Starting November 13, Granite Falls Health laboratory will be offering Direct Lab Access (DLA) to the general public Mondays-Fridays 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.. DLA is a quick and inexpensive way to do lab tests without an order from your healthcare provider.

To keep the costs low, we do not involve any of the other hospital departments such as registration, billing, nursing, etc. or your health insurance. If you have high insurance deductibles or co-pays, you may find this an affordable option to get the information you need. DLA also enables you to take control of your health, however, it is not meant to take the place of regular visits to your healthcare provider.

The hospital is confident that the new service will help lower healthcare costs. “I believe Direct Lab Access is a great service Granite Falls Health can offer our community,” said Lab Director Terry Hadrath. “In addition to regular visits to your healthcare provider, it enables you to take more control over your health. For those with high insurance deductibles, it can be a more cost effective way to obtain certain lab results.”

To use Direct Lab Access, please go directly to the lab. There you will fill out a DLA form and pay for the tests you order. Payment is required before we collect the specimen and we accept cash or checks (we are unable to accept credit or debit cards at this time). You will be given a receipt to turn into your Flex account or Health Saving Account for reimbursement.

After we run your tests, the results will be mailed to you at the address you provided on the DLA form. We will also send an informational letter explaining your test results. To keep costs low, we do not give a copy of your results to your healthcare provider. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your results, please make an appointment with your healthcare provider and remember to bring your copy of your test results.
