The Quad County Cobras sent two wrestlers to the State Tournament - Ayden Friese and Bryce Schmidt. Friese lost his first match against Anthony Axford in a very close fight. The decision was 1-2. In his second match he lost by Major Decision to Jake Mandt 1-12. Mandt’s record was 38-1 for the year. Axford lost a 9-6 decision to Zack Holtz in the next round of wrestlebacks and was eliminated from the tournament.

Bryce Schmidt lost his match against Luke Tweeton in another very close match, a 1-2 decision.

Coach Tongen is proud of the wrestlers’ efforts. They faced tough competition and put up solid fights through all three rounds of their matches. Friese will be back next year, his experience will help lead the team as they continue to train and grow.
