She was baptized and confirmed at Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church in Hanley Falls. Sandra graduated from Hanley Falls High School with her twin sister, Sharon, in the class of ’61. She attended the University of Minnesota and graduated with a Registered and Certified Dental Assistant Degree.
Sandee married Derrald Meyer of Clarkfield, MN on December 28,1963 at Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church. They moved to Wapato, WA where Derrald had been teaching school. Sandee got a job as a dental assistant in Yakima, WA, where she worked until Kimberlee was born. They moved back to Minnesota where they had twin boys, Kent and Kirk. When the twins went to school, Sandee went back to work again until she retired with 30 years as a dental assistant.
Derrald & Sandee spent 14 years in Tuscan, AZ during the Winters and came home Spring, Summer, and Fall to enjoy all their grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting events and school activities.
They moved back to the childhood family farm in August of 2016 to help with the upkeep and Sandee’s father, Allard. She loved cooking meals for her husband and dad or anyone else that stopped by. Sandee loved entertaining and keeping busy whether it was decorating, making something or volunteering. Sandee will always be remembered for starting up the Lutheran Lutefisk Dinners at the churches she belonged to at the time.
