Marilyn Jean (Day) Cusick

Marilyn Jean (Day) Cusick passed away November 23, 2021 at Aspen Winds in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She was 91 years young. She was born on April 17, 1930 to Clarence and Ann Antonson in Westby, Montana.

Marilyn spent most of her life in Granite Falls, Minnesota graduating as a proud Kilowatt in 1948. She was very proud of her days as a cheerleader and her reign as Homecoming Queen. Marilyn married her high school sweetheart and football star, Donald (Johnny) Day on March 27, 1949, and together they were blessed with 4 children, Vicki, Terri, Doug, and Mary Jo.

Marilyn was a dedicated wife and mom, and when she wasn't taking care of things in her own home, she was helping friends and neighbors. Johnny passed in 1971. As a young widow she moved her family to Great Falls, Montana and worked a full-time job. She met Neil Cusick and they were married April 19, 1980. She and Neil retired and moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming. Neil passed away in 2001. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy. Always front row for school programs, dance recitals, every baseball game and track meet. "Proud of you" was heard from her with every accomplishment.

Marilyn is survived by her children; Terri (Steve) Myhre of Miltona, MN, and Mary Jo (Doug) Gale of Cheyenne, WY; her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, Brent Halvorson (Jennifer) of Plano, TX, Nicole (Todd) Bruner and Jackson of Jacksonville, FL, Andrea Myhre and Mateo and Zaiya of Corvallis, OR, Tera (Allen) Gades and Tyler and Evan Montevideo, MN, Derek Day of Manitowac, WI and Chad Day of Manitowac, WI, Jonathan Gale and Mia Jo of Cheyenne, WY, Brady Gale and Lily Roux Cheyenne, WY; her sisters, Gayle Schafer and Pam Swanson; her sisters-in-law, Dar Antonson and Nancy Antonson; and a son-in-law, Dan Sparby.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Donald Antonson and James Antonson; her first husband, Johnny Day; her second husband, Neil Cusick; a daughter, Vicki Sparby; and a son, Doug Day.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Minnesota in the Summer of 2022.

The families would like to thank Primrose, Aspen Winds and Davis Hospice for her exceptional care in the last 7 years of her life. You helped all of us on this journey.

Marilyn Jean (Day) Cusick passed away November 23, 2021 at Aspen Winds in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She was 91 years young. She was born on April 17, 1930 to Clarence and Ann Antonson in Westby, Montana.
