Dean Oscar Isaacs

Dean Oscar Isaacs, 78, was born November 15, 1941 to Murl and Evalyn Isaacs in Township of Sandness in Yellow Medicine County, MN. He as baptized and confirmed at Hazel Run Lutheran Church. He attended and graduated from Clarkfield High School in the class of 1959. Dean married Nona Ree of Hanley Run on August 11, 1962 at Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church in Hanley Falls, MN.

Dean and Nona lived in Clarkfield where their first child Perry, was born. They ventured out west to Portland, Oregon where they eventually decided to settle and raise their four children. Dean enjoyed repairing and selling cars in this spare time. As a long haul truck driver and trainer for 40 years, he acquire many achievement awards for safe driving. He enjoyed camping at the beach and other beautiful place in Oregon. He was a hunter until he bought a vacation cabin in Washington where he fell in love with the deer. After retiring in 2005, they sold their home in Oregon and lived in a motorhome, enjoying freedom as snowbirds. They fell in love with Pahrump, Nevada where the “sun always shine”. They bought a home and joined an RV resort, participating in many activities. Traveling and visiting with family and friends was a favorite. He enjoyed playing pinochle and riding ATVs with a group of friends who endearingly name themselves “Over the Hills Angels”. His words we few but always meaningful. He loved on his feet. He was quiet in his spirit and strong in his actions. A true role model.

He is survived by his wife, Nona; children: Perry Isaacs, Michelle (Gary) Curtis, Todd (fiance Sandi) Isaacs and Troy (Kristy) Isaacs, Nathan (Nikki) Isaacs, Sarah (fiance Alex) Isaacs, Jocelyn (Eddie) Fritzler, Bree Curtis, Garen (Ellie) Curtis, Bryson Curtis, Shae Curtis, Brianna Rowe, Dominic Rowe, Jayvin Rodie, Jayce Rodie, Carter Zaske, Taylor Rooks, (Carol Davey), Dale (Addie) Isaacs; sisters: Elaine Cornelius, Joanne Melbostad, Sharon (Bob) Fischer; brother-in-law: Tom (Rache) Ree; sister-inlaw: Lana (Sheldon) Severson, Tamara Ree; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Peter; brother-in-law Arvid Melbostad and Gaylen Cornelius and granddaughter Michaela Isaacs.
