The Golden Eagles head to Stillwater for a pair of shows.
The University of Minnesota Crookston Western Equestrian team will officially open up the 2017-18 season Oct. 14 at 15 at a pair of shows hosted by the University of Minnesota in Stillwater, Minn.
The Golden Eagles are led by Madeline Drayna (So., Milaca, Minn.), who qualified for the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Semifinals last season, where she fell short of call backs in Intermediate Horsemanship. Minnesota Crookston performed strong in the region last season. They return Drayna, along with Skyla Knudtson (Jr., Bloomington, Minn.) and Katelynn Robertson (Sr., Roseau, Minn.), who all competed at the IHSA Regionals. Knudtson placed third in Beginner Horsemanship at IHSA Regionals, while Robertson finished third in Novice Horsemanship.
The Golden Eagles will look to build on last season’s performances as they continue to grow as a team heading into the two University of Minnesota shows.
