This past weekend, the volleyball girls competed in the Marshall Invitational Tournament. Their first game was against Hutchinson, who defeated them 14-25, 18-25. They used a best 2 out of 3 set format because 32 teams were competing. Their second game of the night was against Fergus Falls. YME won the hotly contested first set 25-23. Fergus Falls came back to win the second set, but the Sting shut them down and put on a solid run of points to win the 3rd set 15-6.
On Saturday, their first game was against Totino Grace. The Sting competed well, losing the 1st set 20-25, and putting up a valiant fight before ultimately losing the 2nd set 29-31. In their game against Leseur-Henderson, Alli Steffen had an impressive 16 digs. They won the first set 25-20, and the 2nd 25-19.
In their last game, they played Waconia. The Sting resolved to end the tournament on a high note. After losing the 1st set 14-25, YME came back and won the next two sets in close battles. 25-19, and 15-12. They placed 21st in the overall results.
