The Lady Sting tried to get ahead of bad weather and played their match against Benson on Wednesday instead of the original plan of Thursday. The weather wizard got the same memo, and the girls had to play through cold and very strong winds, as well as several rain delays. Benson swept all seven matches, ending the season in the quarterfinals of sections for YME.

Coach Fjermestad reported, “We knew the Benson match would be tough because they are a good team. I think we lost a little momentum with the two rain delays, but the girls did their best to play in less-than-ideal conditions.” “Overall I feel like we had a good season. We ended 5-13, but we lost so many close matches it could have been the other way around. It was fun to see the improvement throughout the season, and I'm hoping our six girls (two singles players and two doubles teams) can make a good run at the Section individual tournament that starts on Wednesday in Fargo. Whitney Tennis and Macie Sik will play singles, and we will have Chelsea Hoernemann and Emily Johnson along with Ashley Niemeyer and Cherish Hammer representing us for doubles.”
