Fans, friends and colleagues are sharing memories of chef, author and TV personality Anthony Bourdain on what would have been his 63rd birthday, June 25, a year after his death.

Eric Ripert and José Andrés, close friends of the "Parts Unknown" host, created the day to celebrate Bourdain and his contributions, inviting others to raise a glass to Bourdain and remember him with the hashtag #BourdainDay.

Bourdain died June 8, 2018 in France. While people were asking how to celebrate the chef on the anniversary of his death, it seemed more fitting to celebrate him on his birthday instead, according to Ripert and Andrés.

"I think that the end of his life obviously is traumatic and emotional, but (it) is not as important as the beginning of his life and what he has achieved in his life, and the inspiration that he brought to people," Ripert said to Esquire.

Today is Bourdain Day. Celebrate with his friends@EricRipert and@ChefJoseAndres by sharing your favorite episodes of Parts

I’m so grateful for a day in honor of a man I respected very deeply. He was cool and brilliant. Over the years we found common ground through humor, music and food. I miss his wit and presence. Singular man. #BOURDAINDAY  @ericripert @chefjoseandres
